MRH Wins in Front of Homecoming Crowd

The Devils faced Park Hills Central, a team with an identical 2-2 record, and came out on top.

Park Hills Central may have come to to spoil the Blue Devil homecoming game, but the Rebels didn’t come close.

MRH coach Brandon Gregory had an extra emphasis on conditioning the week before the game, and it paid off. The Blue Devils were up 14-6 at the half and finished strong right up to their final field goal with 1:39 left in the game, winning 31-6.

MRH held the Rebels on the first possession, stopping them after 14 plays. The MRH defense closed up the middle, which has been the Rebel’s bread and butter.

On the first Blue Devils' possession, a 30-yard pass play from junior quarterback Kahlid Hagens to sophomore Aaron Collins set up a 3-yard keeper by Hagens for the first MRH score.

The Rebels got their only score of the game on a 65-yard run from scrimmage in the second quarter. The kick was blocked, leaving MRH up 7-6.

MRH scored again on a 12-yard pass to Aaron Collins in the second quarter, a quarterback keeper by Kahlid Hagens in the third, a 1-yard run by freshman Elijah Keely and finally a 39-yard field goal by senior John Barron.

The MRH win gives the Devils a 3-2 winning record, leaving the Rebels at 2-3.
