Two students earned Dagwoods gift cards from Peoples Bank’s Mexico branch, and organizers hope to make the hands-on history walk an annual tradition for more kids.
   

• Mexico parents charged after giving their kids marijuana to calm behavior (abc17news.com) — Authorities have charged a Mexico couple with multiple felonies after police say they admitted giving marijuana to their three young children, reportedly to address behavior issues. The case, filed in Boone County, involves allegations of drug distribution and child endangerment, and warrants have been issued while the legal process continues.
   

• Teen killed, Missouri truck driver hurt after semi collides with train in Iowa (northiowatoday.com) — A semi-truck linked to Sydenstricker Nobbe of Mexico was involved in a deadly collision with a train in rural Iowa, killing a 14-year-old passenger and injuring his father, the driver. The June 3 crash caused a major derailment but no hazardous material spill, and Iowa authorities say the investigation into what happened is still ongoing.
