• Lightning strike causes gas leak, evacuations in Nixa, Mo. (ky3.com) — Residents on Butterfield Drive in Nixa were briefly evacuated Friday morning after a lightning strike apparently fractured an underground gas line, causing a leak and street shutdown. Firefighters traced the leak by spotting bubbles in a rain-soaked yard and cleared the area after securing the line. Officials remind neighbors to leave immediately and call 911 if they ever smell gas.
