Man Put on Probation For Burglary Steals Boots 13 Days Later, Police Say
The 18-year-old man was charged with his third stealing offense within two years.

Two weeks after pleading guilty to a burglary and theft, an 18-year-old man faces a criminal charge of stealing boots from Kohlβs department store in OβFallon Sunday.
Brian Chappel, 18, of the first block of East OβFallon Drive in OβFallon, was charged Monday with stealing as a third offense.
If heβs found guilty, it would be Chappel's third stealing conviction within two years.

OβFallon Police said Chappel went into Kohlβs wearing athletic shoes, but changed into boots in the shoe department. He left his shoes on the shelf and walked out wearing the boots without paying for them, police said.
He was stopped by a store security guard.

Police said Chappel refused to stand and walk out to the squad car, so he was carried to the vehicle.
Chappel was placed on probation Jan. 14 after he pleaded guilty to a second-degree burglary on June 30 in OβFallon.
He also pleaded guilty in 2011 to stealing on March 14, 2011.
Chappel was being held in St. Charles County jail Tuesday. Bond was set at $25,000.
