The FZN boys' cross country team wins their 9th title in school history.

The FZN boys’ cross country team raced to victory at the GAC Central conference meet held yesterday at McNair Park in St. Charles. The Panther “Harriers” edged conference foe Fort Zumwalt East 43 – 52 to claim their first conference championship since 2017. It was the 9th overall title for the program. Last season the Panthers were the conference runner-up. The Panthers had 4 individual runners finish in the top 15 to claim individual “All-Conference” status. Those runners include: Taylor Mason (2nd), Blake Margerum (3rd), Ethan Schrautemeier (8th) and Alan Myer (12th). Additionally, varsity runners: Brayden Pirrung, Daniel Meyer and Andrew Jordan ran strong races to contribute to the team victory.
On the girls’ side, the Panthers had two individuals: Peyton Spellazza (6th) and Jailyn Ebert (11th) earn conference medals.
The Panthers have next weekend off, as the team prepares for the District meet to be held in Washington on Saturday, October 30th. Runners that earn “All-District” status will qualify for the state championships. Taylor Mason and Jaylin Ebert are the Panthers returning state qualifiers
