One such nugget can be found in the book of John chapter 8, verse 32.
It states that, "The truth will set you free."

This is a firm fact of life but when it comes to actual practice, it seems not only that many people don't want to tell the truth, they don't want to hear it either.
I have no idea why the human condition is so adverse to hearing the truth. Maybe because it makes a person feel uncomfortable or because it puts pressure on people to change their ways.

A favorite quote of mine is, "When you speak, always tell the truth. But don't always speak."
Another favorite quote of mine is, "Man is the only creature that blushes, or needs to."
If everyone told the truth and lived how they were supposed to, the world might need some time to adjust, but in the end it would be worth it.
