Brister hopes to restore the Lindenwood Roar!
Cade Brister to play football for Lindenwood University.
FZN Senior Cade Brister recently signed a "Letter of Intent" to play football for Lindenwood University in St. Charles. Brister was a 4-year starter for the Panther football team. He was named the St. Louis area "Player of the Year" by KSDK sports this past fall when he led the Panthers to their first ever appearance in Missouri's "Show-Me Bowl". Brister put up video game like numbers for the Panthers in the fall of 2016, scoring a record setting 44 touchdowns while rushing for 2020 yards and throwing for another 1458. For his efforts, Brister was selected to the Class 5 "All-State" team. He was also named a the GAC Central offensive "Player of the Year". During Brister's time as a member of the FZN football team, the Panthers experienced an wave of success that included 3 conference titles, 3 district titles, and one state runner-up finish. The Panthers went an impressive 33 - 5 over the course of the past three seasons. A two-way player in football, Brister has also competed as a member of the Panther basketball and track teams. He was a member of the Panther's 2016 District Championship basketball squad.
At Lindenwood, Brister hopes to be part of a football revival for the Lions. A power at the NAIA level, Lindenwood had faced a difficult transition to the NCAA D2 level, where they compete in the highly competitive MIAAA conference. The conference is widely regarded as the strongest in the country, and is home to traditional powers Northwest Missouri and Pitt State.
