Celbrating moms with Beer and Wine

Barrel Bar celebrates women (with beer)

Everything Wine & Cigar/The Barrel Bar will have its Wo”Mom”s Day event from 1 to 5 p.m. May 10.

The event will feature free chair massages from local

Chiropractor offices, live music, Jim beam honey girls and bear tasting  and wine tastings.It also will include a New Belgium tap takeover featuring La Folie, Snapshot, Summer Helles, Gruit, Fat Tire, and Ranger.

Fat Tire, an Amber Ale, is New Belgium’s flagship brew. Ranger is their signature IPA.

Of Snapshot, New Belgium says “You just captured an unfiltered wheat beer full of refreshment and a flash of tart at the finish. Smile-inducing aromas of citrus hops jump from the nose, accompanied by the sweetness of coriander and grains of paradise. Brewed with wheat and pale malt, Snapshot pours a hazy, lemon-yellow with bright-white lacing. But the real enticement is the snap of tart. New Belgium’s affinity for sour beers led to the in-process blending of lactobacillus to pucker up Snapshot’s base. An extra step to acidify and beautify and get this beer ready for its close up.”

Summer Helles is a lager with pale and German Pils malts and Hallertau and Tettnang hops.

La Folie and Gruit are from New Belgium’s Lips of Faith series.

La Folie is a wood-aged sour brown. It spends three years in oak barrels. New Belgium says “La Folie is sharp and sour, full of green apple, cherry, and plum-skin notes.”

Gruit is bittered without using hops. According to New Belgium “it’s all about revisiting the ancient craft of bittering with herb mixtures, not hops. In here horehound, bog myrtle, yarrow, wormwood and elderflowers get together with rich malts to create a bitter, dry, velvet-like sweetness worth revering.”

Everything Wine & Cigar/The Barrel Bar is located at 1001 Rondale Court, Dardenne Prairie, not far off where Winghaven Boulevard intersections (hwy n - between Bryan and hwy k)
