FZN Boys Cross Country wins the First Capitol Invitational!

The Panthers place three runners in the top five.

The FZN boys cross country team repeated at team champions at the First Capitol Invitational hosted by St. Charles High School. The Panthers placed five runners (Sean Deeken - 2nd, Cole Sutton - 3rd, Jerald Caldwell - 5th, Seth Gleason - 12th, and Ryan Pendergast - 16th) amoungst the top 20 finishers. All individuals who finished in the top 20 earned a medal at the event. On the girls side of the meet, Morgan Avery placed 19th to medal for the Panthers. In addition to the outstanding performance of the varsity runners, Panther freshmen Emily Piel captured 1st place in the JV portion of the meet, winning the race by a whopping 36 seconds!

This Friday (9/1) the Panthers will host their own invitational meet on the campus of North High. The first race (Girls Varsity) is scheduled to begin at 3:30 pm.
