FZN claims a third consecutive District title!

The Panther football team stretches their winning streak to 10 games.

The FZN football team defeated rival Fort Zumwalt South by a score of 50 - 19 to claim their third consecutive District title! With the victory the Panthers advanced to the state quarterfinal round where they will face undefeated Springfield Glendale (11 - 0). The win was the team's 10 in a row. The Panthers have gone an impressive 31 - 3 over the course of the past three seasons. It is the best three-year stretch in school history. Against South, the Panthers were lead by stand-out two-way player Cade Brister, who rushed for 168 yards and 2 touchdowns and passed for 148 yards and one score. Brister also added a interception on the defensive side of the ball. Deiondre' Stockton, Jake Cecil, Mareon Lowery, and Vernell Rue all added touchdowns for the Panthers, who continue to put up big offensive numbers. The team is averaging a staggering 47.8 points per game! Defensively, the leading tacklers for the Panthers were: Jaylin Vaughn, Jake Cecil, Eli Lewis, and Trevor Olson.

The Panthers will travel to Springfield to this Friday night. Glendale, who plays in the Ozark Conference, will be making their first trip to the final eight, since the 2007 season. The Falcons are led by quarterback Alex Huston, who has thrown for 5,790 yards and 73 touchdowns. The winner will face the winner of the Columbia: Battle/Carthage game in the state semi-final. Kickoff at Glendale is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
