
Last Friday night the Varsity Football team defeated rival Fort Zumwalt South by a score of 42 - 20. The victory improved the team's overall record to 8 - 2. The eight wins are the most victories for the football program since the 2007 season! On Friday it was the defense that led the way, as they shut out the Bulldogs into the 4th quarter. The defense limited FZS to under 175 total yards on the night. Top defenders were Jeremy Davidson with 15 tackles, Luke Sammelmann with 11 tackles, and Justin Fitzpatrick with 5 tackles and 2 interceptions.
On offensive side of the ball Panthers were led by Brenden Pierce, who rushed for 98 yards and 2 touchdowns. Deon Lewis also has a big night for the Panthers as he rushed for 67 yards and 2 scores.
With the victory the team advances to play Parkway Central on Wednesday (11/6) in the District Semi-Final game. Currently Parkway Central is the #4 ranked team in the state and will enter the contest with an impressive 9 - 1 record. The game will be played at Robert Fisher Stadium on the campus of Fort Zumwalt North. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
