
The FZN varsity football team maintained city bragging rights by virtue of their 40 - 33 victory over Fort Zumwalt West last Friday night. The Panthers jumped to a big lead early before holding off the Jaguar rally in the second half. The offense led the way for the Panthers, racking up an impressive 433 yards of total offense while scoring touchdowns on six of their ten possessions. Cade Brister stood out with 288 offensive yards and five touchdowns. Mareon Lowery picked up a tough 91 rushing yards and one touchdown and Jake Cecil provided the Panthers with a critical 49 receiving yards to add to the offensive effort. The victory marks the 3rd consecutive win for FZN over their crosstown rivals. The Panthers now lead the overall series between O'Fallon's two public high schools 3 games to 2.
This Friday (9/2) the Panthers host the Trojans of Troy Buchanan. Both teams enter the game with 1 - 1 records. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
