The FZN soccer team claimed a share of the GAC Central title last Friday night by virtue of their 2 - 0 win over Washington. The conference title is the first for the program since the 2008 season. With two games remaining in the regular season, the Panthers currently stand at 18 - 4 on the season. The 2015 version of the Panther soccer team have set a new record for wins in a single season. The previous record was 16 wins, last met in 2014. The team has been led by standouts: Matt Urbeck (15 goals, 2 assists), Chandler Hoff (6 goals, 13 assists), Matt Bennick (4 goals, 17 assists), and Robbie Navatto (5 goals, 13 assists). Grant Runge has been nothing short of spectacular as the Panthers’ keeper. Runge sports a 17 - 4 mark in goal while earning 12 shutouts this season.
This Thursday night (10/22) the Panthers will play their final regular season contest at home against McCluer. The game is scheduled to begin at 6:00 pm. Prior to the start of Thursday night’s contest, the Panthers will recognize their senior players and their parents.
