FZN Soccer sends two to the college ranks

Mike DeAvila and Nick Filla to continue their careers at the next level.

Two members of the FZN soccer team, Nick Filla and Mike DeAvilla, will play college soccer next fall.

Filla signed with Lewis and Clark College. He was a two year starter for the Panthers, who earned 2nd team “All-Conference” honors last fall. Filla will follow in the footsteps of his older brother, Jack (FZN Class of 2013), who also played at Lewis and Clark.

DeAvilla signed with the University of Illinois-Springfield. He was a four year starter for the Panthers, who earned 1st team “All-Conference” honors last fall.

Both were key members of a surging FZN boys soccer program, which has completed an impressive 46 - 26 - 1 record over the course of the past three seasons.
