Both the boys and girls track squads have performed well as the team approach the end of the 2016 season. Both teams captured the "City" Championship back in March by virtue of scoring wins over O'Fallon's other three high schools (FZW, Christian, and St. Dominic). Recently, both teams participated in the FZN Invitational where the girls team captured top honors and the boys team finished 2nd.
Individually, the boys have been led by standout Jonathan Banowetz. Banowetz was a state qualifier last season and remains one of the top hurdlers in the area. Banowetz finished 1st in the 110M hurdles and 2nd in the 300M hurdles at the FZN Invitational. In addition to Banowetz, the team's distance duo of Hunter Boker and Chris Allensworth have performed well for the Panthers. Boker won the 1600M run at the FZN Invitational, while Allensworth finished 2nd. The two flip-flopped in the 3200M run where Allensworth claimed the title with Boker finishing 2nd.
The girls team has been led by the Pudlowski sisters (Gwen and Rachel). The pair are both members of the 4X100 and 4X200 meter relay teams that won gold at at the FZN Invitational. The 4X100 relay broke the school record that had stood for 11 years. The Pudlowski sisters along with Peyton Brunkhorst and Danni Bray ran a time of 50.78 seconds! Rachel Pudlowski followed that up with breaking her own school mark in the Long Jump to claim the individual title at the meet. She jumped an impressive 17'7" to break the old mark by two inches! Gwen Pudlowski also finished 1st in the 100M dash and 2nd in the 200M dash. Combined, the Pudlowski tally: 6 Golds, 1 Silver, 1 Bronze. Adding to the record breaking success was the girls 4X800 meter relay team, made up of Tori Nesslage, Jocelyn Quiles, Hannah McNiff, and Amanda Bello. They set a new school mark with a time of 10:01.46. The previous record had stood for 9 years.
