Gentry to fly with the Eagles!
FZN Senior Jakob Gentry signs to play baseball for Central Methodist University.

FZN Senior Jakob Gentry recently signed to play baseball with Central Methodist University. CMU, located in Fayette, Missouri, is a NAIA institution with membership in the Heart of America Athletic Conference. Last season, the Eagles finished with an overall record of 42 - 17 and earned a #25 ranking in the final NAIA poll. Gentry has been a member of the varsity baseball team at FZN since his sophomore year. The Panthers have won the district baseball title in each of the past two seasons. As one of the team's top pitchers, Gentry has played a key role in the team's success. Last season he started 10 games for the Panthers, finishing with a 5 - 4 record and 2.22 ERA. Gentry also proved to be valuable at the plate as he hit .309 for the District champions. For his efforts last spring, Gentry earned 2nd team "All-Conference" honors. In addition to his time at FZN, Gentry is also a member of the St. Charles Capitols club baseball team. This past summer, Gentry batted .367 for the Capitols while hitting from the lead-off position. A versitile athlete, Gentry is also a member of the FZN basketball team.
