FZN Senior Alex Goeke recently signed a “Letter of Intent” to play football for Truman State University, located in Kirksville, MO. For the past two seasons, Goeke was an anchor on the Panther offensive line, where he contributed greatly to the vaunted FZN rushing attack. A two-year starter on the offensive line, Goeke was called upon to play defense this past season, becoming a two-way player for the Panthers. For his efforts this past season, Goeke earned “All-Conference” 2nd team honors. Additionally, Goeke was placed on the GAC Central “All-Academic” team. A three-sport athlete, who has earned letters in wrestling and track, Goeke was a state qualifier in wrestling a season ago, with hopes of making a return trip this winter.
Truman State is an NCAA Division 2-member school that competes in athletics as a member of the GLVC (Great Lakes Valley Conference). This past season, the Bulldogs finished with a 9 – 2 overall record, which included a victory in the “America Crossroads Bowl.” Goeke chose Truman because of its excellent academic reputation. He plans to major in Marketing.
