Guthrie signs with Westminster!

Senior Mikayla Guthrie to play softball for Westminster College.

FZN Senior Mikayla Guthrie recently signed a letter of intent to play softball for Westminster College located in Fulton, Missouri. Guthrie was a stand-out for the FZN softball team this past fall. She hit an impressive .462 while swatting 3 home runs and knocking in 22 runners. For her efforts this fall, Guthrie was selected as a 1st team member of the GAC Central "All-Conference" team. She also earned 2nd team "All St. Louis Region".

In addition to her time at FZN, where she earned three varsity letters, Guthrie is also a member of the highly competitive Thz Tribe club softball program. In her most recent season with the "Tribe" she put up a gaudy .550 batting average (.850 slugging percentage).

Guthrie joins a Westminster program that captured the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship last spring. The Blue Jays finished the 2017 season with an overall record of 24 - 13 (16 - 2 in conference). Guthrie is the second Fort Zumwalt athlete to sign with Westminster. She follows 2016 graduate, Nick Bohannan, who is a member of the Blue Jay baseball team.
