Hickey to remain a Panther!

FZN Senior Teddy Hickey to wrestle at Drury College.

FZN Senior Teddy Hickey recently committed to wrestle at Drury College located in Springfield, Missouri. Hickey, a three-sport athlete at North High, will narrow his focus to wrestling at the college level. This past season, Hickey capped off his high school career, earning "All-State" status by virtue of his 6th place finish at the MSHSAA Class 4 state tournament. He completed his wrestling career with a 130 - 31 overall record. Hickey qualified for the state wrestling championships three times (2016, 2018, 2019). In addition, to his wrestling credentials, Hickey has earned "All-Conference" medals in both swimming and tennis. He qualified for the state swimming championship in the fall of 2017. An honors-student at North High, who sports a lofty 4.1 GPA, Hickey was an academic "All-State" team member in Class 4 Wrestling as well as earning "All-Conference" academic honors in swimming, wrestling, and tennis.

This school year, the Drury College wrestling program completed just their second season in school history. Drury is a NCAA Division 2 member school and competes in the Great Lakes Valley athletic conference. 2019 saw Drury qualify it's first wrestler to the NCAA D2 Tournament.
