Sydney Kelsey continues to add her name to the historical swimming records at Fort Zumwalt North High School. Kelsey, a senior at FZN, currently holds 7 school records for the North High swim program. Kelsey has individual school records in the 100 butterfly, 200 individual medley, 100 freestyle and her specialty event, the 100 breast stroke. She is also record holder as a member of three relay events. Kelsey leads a Panther swim program that currently stands at 7 – 1 on the dual meet season. She is a three-time state qualifier, qualifying in multiple events, who is wrapping up her outstanding career at North High this season. Kelsey is also an accomplished club swimmer as a member of the St. Peters Sharks. With her latest school record, the 100 butterfly, Kelsey broke the long-standing record held by Kelsey Ward. Ward was a multiple time All-American swimmer at Drury University, who was recently inducted into Drury’s athletic “Hall of Fame.” A team leader, Kelsey swims in the maximum of four races at each competition. She also excels in the classroom, where she sports an impressive 4.63 GPA, while taking a full course load of AP classes. Kelsey is undecided in regards to a possible post-high school swim career, but is leaning towards attending the University of Missouri.
