FZN Senior Mackenzie Menke recently signed a "Letter of Intent" to play soccer at Washburn (KS) University located in Topeka, KS. Menke has been a three year starter for the soccer team at Fort Zumwalt North. Menke played a valuable role as the Panther's midfielder. In addition to her play at North High, Menke is also a member of the Missouri Rush soccer club and has an extensive club soccer background. Menke was named as a 2nd team "All-Conference" selection following the 2016 season. She has been placed on the conference's "All-Academic" team in each of the past three years.
Washburn is a NCAA Division 2 program that competes as a member of the highly competitive MIAA (Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association) conference. Next fall, Menke will compete against her sister, Cassidy, who as a junior set the career goal record for Missouri Western this past fall. Last fall Washburn finished the season with a 10 - 9 - 1 mark, falling in the conference tournament semi-final to Missouri Western.
