voters will decide on seven involuntary annexation proposals during the election on April 5.
O'Fallon Public Relations Director Tom Drabelle said the handful of annexation issues on the ballot will mostly absorb small, undeveloped parcels of land not originally incorporated by city planners.

“If you look at a map of O’Fallon, it’s a little bit like Swiss cheese,” Drabelle said. “There are parcels that weren’t annexed originally, now we’re filling in holes.”
Drabelle said most of the areas are undeveloped, but still require occasional service from and utility workers, so it makes sense to incorporate them.

The seven properties voters may choose to annex are listed on municipal ballots as Propositions A.1 through A.7. Lots one and two are northeast of the I-70/Bryan ramp off Hoff Road. Lots three through five run parralel between Highway N and Page South Outer Road, south of Dardenne Prairie. Six and seven are further west along Highway N, south of I-40.
Should each measure pass, the total area of the land being annexed is approximately 106 acres.
Drabelle said the annexation of land-locked parcels has been going on for the last three years. Legally, each lot must be separated into an individual ballot issue, he said, hence the seven separate initiatives.
