The FZN boys cross country team dominated the six team GAC Central conference race to lay claim to their third consecutive title! The Panther harriers scored an impressive 34 team points to easily outpace second place Fort Zumwalt South, who finished with 55 team points. Cross Country races are scored by the order of finish of each team's top five runners. The Panthers were led by Sean Deeken who ran a blistering 17:22 to win the individual title. Deeken was particularly strong on the second half of the 3.1 mile course located on the campus of Washington High School. In addition to Deeken, the Panthers had four other runners: (Cole Sutton - 5th, Jerald Caldwell - 6th, Ryan Pendergast - 10th, and Seth Gleason - 12th) finish in the top 14 to earn "All-Conference" status. The victory at the GAC Central meet was the third victory for the boys team this season. The Panthers had one runner, Morgan Avery - 8th, earn a conference medal on the girls portion of the event.
The meet concluded the regular season for both the boys and girls teams. The Panthers will next compete at the District meet held on October 20th in Jefferson City.
