Panther Harriers race to another title!

FZN Boys Cross Country wins their second straight event.

The FZN boys cross country team won the team championship at the 3rd annual FZN Invitational. This was the second consecutive victory for the Panthers, who won the First Capitol Invitational the previous weekend. The Panthers were lead by three individuals: Sean Deeken (2nd) , Jerald Caldwell (4th) , and Cole Sutton (6th) who all placed among the top six runners at the 10 team event. Two other Panther runners, Ryan Pendergast (21st) and Seth Gleason (22nd) narrowly missed earning a medal. The top twenty finishers in each race earned a medal. The five Panther runners combined for a team score of 55 points to outpace second place Timberland who finished with a score of 68.

In addition to the performance of the boy teams, two members of the girls squad also earned medals for the Panthers. Emily Peil, a freshmen racing in just her second varsity event, placed 3rd for the Panthers and veteran Morgan Avery finished 7th.

This upcoming Saturday (9/8) both the boys and girls teams will travel to St. Louis to compete in the Forest Park Festival held at Forest Park.
