The Fort Zumwalt North "Panther Pride" band kicked off their 2018 competition season this past weekend at O'Fallon Township High School in O'Fallon, Illinois. The band tied with Belleville East High School for the top overall score at the event, but placed second on a tiebreaker (general effect score). The Panther Pride also earned the outstanding percussion award.
The band is led by long-time band director Rob Babel, his assistant Patrick Stewart, percussion instructor Matt Schultz, and guard coach Alyssa Navarro. This year's student drum majors are: Delaney Norman, Henry Carrico, and Kaylee Lowery.
You can catch a performance of the 2018 show, "Trapped", at each home football game this fall. The Panther Pride band's next competition is at Blue Springs South High School on September 22nd.
