The FZN wrestling team captured top honors at the FZN Invitational.

The FZN wrestling team opened their season in fine fashion last week. The Panther grapplers won the 18 team FZN Invitational by outpacing 2nd place, and defending champion, Windsor by nearly 40 points. Teddy Hickey (120 lbs) captured the lone individual title for the Panthers. Hickey was joined by teammates: Ayden Dainels (4th - 106 lbs), Derick Buda-Smith (3rd - 152 lbs), Brenden Keeling (2nd - 160 lbs), Nate O'Neal (4th), and Cameron Pickering (2nd - 195 lbs) as those wrestlers earning medals for the Panthers. The top four finishers in each weight class earned medals. The Panthers entered 13 individuals in the meet, each Panther wrestler won at least one match to contribute to the victory. The victory at the tournament was preceded by two dual meet victories earlier in the week. The Panthers defeated Rockwood Summit (39 - 33) and Oakville (72 - 3) in dual meets to kick-off the 2017 - 2018 campaign.

The Panthers return to action this Friday (12/8) as they compete in the Zumwalt Quad, a meet featuring all four Zumwalt High Schools. This year's Quad will be hosted by Fort Zumwalt South. Action begins at 5:00 pm.
