Panthers advance to District Final!

FZN advances to their 4th straight district championship game.

The FZN football team continued their winning ways last Friday as the Panthers defeated rival Fort Zumwalt South for the second time this year by a score of 56 - 6. The Panthers and Bulldogs have played twice a year in 5 of the past 6 seasons. The Panther defense kept the Bulldogs in check all night holding them out of the end zone until the waning moments of the game. Individual defensive stand-outs included: Bryce Rowles (11 tackles and 2 sacks), Maurius Smith (8 tackles), Kader "Big Deer" Ndiaye (7 tackles) and Kyle Mallett (7 tackles). Jacob Triplett was responsible for the defensive play of the game, as he returned a lateral pass 33 yards for a defensive touchdown. Offensively, the Panthers spread the ball around with touchdowns being scored by Jack Ederer, Jacob Triplett, Cairo Payne, Jaylin Vaughn, Mareon Lowery, Dylan Estes, and Tim Nesslage.

The victory for the Panthers sets up a rematch with fellow GAC member - Timberland with the District title at stake. The Panthers will host the Wolves this Friday (11/3) @ Robert Fisher Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 pm. Admission to the MSHSAA sponsored event is $7.00.
