Panthers capture their third straight conference title!

The FZN football team won their 7th straight contest last Friday night as the Panthers defeated Fort Zumwalt South 49 - 26. The Panthers were once again led by stand-out play of Cade Brister who rushed for 240 yards and 5 touchdowns! Jack Ederer chipped in 108 rushing yards and a touchdown while Zach Stanner snatched 61 receiving yards and touchdown. Defensively the team was led in tackles by Eli Lewis and Jaylin Vaughn who each recorded 9 tackles.

The win earned the Panthers the their third straight conference (GAC Central) championship! The last time this feat was accomplished by a Panther football team occurred between the 1976 - 1978 seasons when the school was know as Fort Zumwalt Senior High. In addition to wining a third straight conference title, the Panthers also secured "bragging rights" among the other Zumwalt schools having defeated West, East, and South for a third consecutive season.

This Friday night the Panthers travel to Timberland for a game set to determine the top seed in the upcoming District Tournament. Timberland currently stands at 6 - 2 on the season. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
