Panthers defeat the Blue Jays for their sixth straight win!

FZN moves to 6 - 0 on the season.

The Fort Zumwalt North football team improved to 6 - 0 (3 - 0 conference) with a resounding 44 - 6 victory over Washington. The Panthers have now moved into a position to win at least a share of the conference crown this Friday as they match-up with Fort Zumwalt East in a key GAC Central match-up.

Against Washington, the Panther offense was led by Izaiah Hartrup who had a break-out performance as he amassed 201 yards of total offense (rushing and receiving) on the night. Hartrup scored three touchdowns. Cerry Watson, making his first offensive start of the season, rushed for 90 yards and made a number of pivotal blocks to spring open the Panther rushing attack. On the defensive side, Max Martin stood out with a season high total of 13 solo tackles and 1 assist. Other defensive stand-outs included: Jacob Noernburg with 7 solo tackles and Jaylin Vaughn with 5 solo tackles.

This Friday the Panthers will play host to Fort Zumwalt East in a game with big conference implications. Both teams currently stand at 3 - 0 in conference play. The winner of Friday's game is assured at least a portion of the GAC Central crown. The Panthers and Lions have combined to win the last six GAC Central titles. Kickoff at Robert Fisher Stadium is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
