
The FZN football team defeated Troy 42 - 12 last Friday night to move to 2 - 1 on the 2016 season. Cade Brister continued to lead the way for the Panthers as he proved to be a dual threat in rushing for 104 yards and passing for 179. Brister scored 2 of the Panthers six touchdowns. The receiving duo of Zac Stanner and King Rue combined for 173 yards to aid the Panthers well balanced offensive attack. Deiondre Stockton, Mareon Lowery, and Jake Cecil (2) each pitched in with Panther touchdowns. Matt Bennick was perfect on extra points going 6 for 6. Leading defesive tacklers were: Mareon Lowery (14), Bryce Rowles (13), Nick Williams (9), and Kader Ndiaye (9).
This Friday night the Panther play host to Fort Zumwalt East who also enters the game with a 2 - 1 record. The two school have won the last 5 conference titles, so Friday night's game figures to be a pivotal match-up in the GAC Central race. Kick-Off is scheduled for 7:00 pm at Robert Fisher Stadium.
