
With a 35 - 0 victory over Parkway West last Friday, the Fort Zumwalt North football team laid claim to their second consecutive District title! The win was the 11th straight for the Panthers this season, who remain unbeaten in 2015. The team also broke the school record for wins in single season.
The Panther defense was once again dominate in the victory over Parkway West, holding the Longhorns to just 135 yards of total offense. Leading the way for the defense were Tay Robinson (7 tackles), Dre’ Hathaway (7 tackles), Blake “The Bus” Wilson (7 tackles), and Dacey Brister (6 tackles). The shutout is the second consecutive for the Panthers this post-season.
On offense, it was Cade Brister who led the way. Brister rushed for 152 yards and scored three of the Panther touchdowns. Marcus Jones pitched in 89 yards and a touchdown, while Austin Cox rounded out the Panther scoring with a touchdown of his own. Jon Banowetz connected on all five extra point tries.

The Panthers have now secured a rematch with Columbia: Battle High School. Last fall, Battle ended the Panther season with a 20 - 13 victory over FZN in the state quarterfinal game played on a frigid night in Columbia. Battle went on to capture the state title in 2014.
The 11 - 0 Panthers host the 9 - 2 defending champions this Friday night (11/13). Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
