The Varsity Football team rolled to their fourth consecutive victory as they defeated Washington 49 - 22 on a rain soaked night in Washington. The driving rain had little effect on the Panthers, as they scored early and often, racing out to a 36 - 0 lead in the first half. FZN Quarterback Cade Brister continued to put up impressive numbers as he rushed for over 200 yards while scoring five of the Panthers seven touchdowns. Deiondre Stockton added 54 rushing yards and a touchdown to the Panther offensive total. Jack Ederer made his presence felt as he accumulated over 200 yards in combined rushing and punt return totals. Ederer also scored on a 71 yard punt return. Defensively the team was led in tackles by inside linebackers, Eli Lewis and Jaylin Vaughn, who each recorded 8 solo tackles. Cade Brister chipped in with 5 solo tackles and an interception.
With the victory the Panthers remain unbeaten (2 - 0) in GAC Central play. This Friday (9/23) the Panthers host the Indians of Holt in their annual "Homecoming" game. Fort Zumwalt North and Holt are charter members of the Gateway Athletic Conference and have played nearly every year since the early 1970's. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
