
The FZN football team finished off their regular season with 47 - 14 victory over Timberland last Friday night. The victory was the eight straight for the Panthers, who now stand at 8 - 1 on the season. On offense, leading rushers were Cade Brister with 123 yards and 2 touchdowns and Jack Ederer with 43 yards and a touchdown. Deiondre Stockton led all Panther receivers with 70 yards. Stockton also rushed for a touchdown. Mareon Lowery and Bryce Rowles each added rushing touchdowns for the Panthers.
Defensively, the team was led by Jalyin Vaughn, who recorded 10 individual tackles. Mareon Lowery (9 tackles), Bryce Rowles (8 tackles), Eli Lewis (7 tackles), and King Rue (7 tackles) also stood out on the defensive side of the ball. Cade Brister recorded 2 interceptions, one which he returned 90 yards for a touchdown.
With the victory the Panthers secured the top seed in the upcoming District tournament and earned a first round bye. FZN will play host to the Holt/Washington winner on Oct. 28th. Kickoff on the 28th is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
