FZN Senior Tanner Paschke recently signed a “Letter of Intent” to play baseball for the University of Iowa, located in Iowa City, Iowa. The hard-throwing Paschke was the primary pitcher for the Panther baseball team last spring. After a strong season, Paschke was named 1st team “All-Conference” in the highly competitive GAC Central. A three-year varsity team member at FZN, Paschke is an accomplished player in summer club baseball, playing for the Adidas Athletics. Prior to joining the Athletics in 2021, Paschke spent time with the Columbia (MO) Warriors. During the club season, Paschke caught the eye of college scouts when he competed nationally. His slider is thought to be one of the best in the Midwest, with a fastball in the 90’s. He is, once again, expected to be the Panthers ace this spring.

The University of Iowa, known as the Hawkeyes, is a NCAA Division 1-member school that competes in athletics as a member of the prestigious BIG (10) conference. Last season the Hawkeyes finished with a 36 – 19 overall record, good enough for 2nd place in the BIG (10). The baseball program at Iowa has a long and storied tradition. At Iowa, Paschke plans to study in the field of Education with hopes of becoming a teacher and coach
