Ittner Architects in St. Louis designs a unique learning facility for Fort Zumwalt Schools

The Mike Clemens Center for Adaptive Learning in the Fort Zumwalt School District is a uniquely designed facility that will meet the needs of its students who have severe behavior disorders or autism.

The facility, the only one of its kind in the region, will be constructed with wall panels built from 5/8th inch impact-resistant gypsum board. These customized panels will be located in high trafficked areas in order to minimize injuries to students while maintaining structural durability. Ittner constructed mock panels for an actual test demonstration with school officials. For more information on the demonstration, visit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLc8H5dTgQ8

“The panels and this project demonstrate how educational leaders are focused on meeting the needs of students with all abilities, while ensuring the facility can be operational for decades to come,” said Dennis Young, President & CEO of Ittner Architect, the firm that researched, designed and constructed the district-approved panels for the Center.
