FZN Senior Gabby Starman recently signed a “Letter of Intent” to play soccer for Indiana State University, located in Terre Haute, Indiana. Starman was a standout player for the Panthers last season, scoring team high 13 goals with 6 assists from her midfield/forward position. For her efforts last spring, Starman was placed on the GAC Central “All-Conference” team. Starman, known for her speed and toughness on the pitch, has vast experience in the sport as she began playing at the tender age of 4. Starman competes on the club level as member of the St. Louis Development Academy, formerly known as Sporting STL. This past fall, the STL Development squad captured the State Cup and went on to compete in the national tournament held in Oceanside, California. In addition to her prowess on the soccer pitch, Starman is a standout in the classroom that sports an impressive 4.048 GPA. She has twice been recognized as an “All-Academic” performer for the conference.

Indiana State, whose moniker is the Sycamores, is an NCAA Division 1-member school that competes in athletics as a member of the Missouri Valley Conference. Starman’s older sister, Gia, plays at Missouri State University, which is also a member of the MVC. The two schools compete in soccer on an annual basis. Starman chose Indiana State because of the team atmosphere. She plans to major in criminology with hopes of working for the FBI at a future date.
