Swimcats to host the Eastman Invitational!

The FZN swim and dive team is set to host their own invitational.

This Saturday (10/5) the FZN boys swimming team, the Swimcats, will host the 26th annual Roger Eastman Invitational. The meet, which includes a diving competition, is scheduled to begin at 9:00 am. The meet will be held at the St. Peters Rec-Plex. A total of 11 teams will participate in this year’s meet, including: FZ East, McCluer North, Timberland, Francis Howell North, Borgia, Washington, Liberty, Hazelwood Central, Cape: Notre Dame, and Lutheran: St. Charles. The event was established by former coach Roger Eastman, and was renamed in his honor following his retirement after the 2010 season.

This season the FZN Swimcats have a current dual meet record of 5 – 3. The team has one individual, Nolan Dyer – 100 fly, who has earned state consideration time already this season. In addition to Dyer, three relays teams (200 medley, 400 free, 200 free) have also earned state consideration times. The relay teams consist of Dyer, Kenny Goeke, Johnny Palmer, Ben Brown and Jake Farrar.

First year head coach Alice Maloney had this to say about the meet, “Nolan Dyer has a state consideration time in the 100 fly and is looking to knock off some time at Saturday’s meet. He looks to take home a medal. Johnny Palmer is looking to set a new PR in the 100 free and Jake Farrar is pushing to drop time in his 100 breaststroke and is also looking to medal.”
