Varsity Football advances to the District Final!

The Panther football team defeated Parkway North 29 - 0 to advance in District play.

The Panther football team dominated both sides of the ball in a convincing 29 - 0 win over Parkway North last Friday night. With the win the Panthers advanced to the MSHSAA Class 5 - District 3 Championship game.

The shut-out was the third of the season for the Panther defense. The defensive standouts for the Panthers were: Cade Brister (14 tackles, 1 interception, and 1 fumble recovery), Dacey Brister (18 tackles), Tay Robinson (14 tackles), and Deon Lewis (13 tackles).

On the offensive side of the ball, Brenden Pierce returned to action by throwing for 130 yards and 2 touchdowns, Sam Bartlett caught 3 passes for 118 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Cameren Fullerton led all Panther rushers with 119 yards.

The Panthers overall record now stands at 9 - 1. The last Panther football team to win at least 9 games was the 1977 squad, which finished the season with a 10 - 2 mark.

The Panthers opponent in the District Championship game is district and conference rival, Fort Zumwalt East. The Panthers and Lions met earlier this season in a game that saw the Panthers defeat the Lions in a thrilling game one point game.

The District Championship game will take place this Friday (11/7) at Robert Fisher Stadium on the campus of North High. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
