Woman Tried Driving Home in Damaged Car After Causing Collision, Deputy Says

A woman tried to leave an accident scene, but didn’t get far after causing a collision on Highway 94 near Siedentop Road in Weldon Spring, according St. Charles County deputy reported.

Carlotta Antonetta Woods, 31, of the 3200 block of Ashby Road in St. Ann, was charged July 1 with leaving the scene of an accident that caused injuries to others.

A St. Charles County Sheriff’s deputy reported that he responded to a June 30 accident that included injuries to occupants struck by Woods’ car. They were taken by ambulance to a hospital.

The deputy said Woods was standing near her car, a gray 2008 Cadillac SRX4, which had extensive front-end damage, with the front, driver’s side wheel broken under the car. Woods’ Cadillac was about a quarter-mile from the accident scene.

When the deputy asked Woods what happened, she replied that somebody hit her car.

“She was extremely uncooperative and not forthcoming with any further information,” the deputy wrote.

She told the deputy her chest hurt, but refused medical treatment.

The deputy reported, “I asked Woods how she ended up so far away from the scene of the accident, to which she replied, ‘I drove. I was trying to go home.’”

When asked why she left, she replied, “I just wanted to go home,” the deputy said.

When the deputy asked if she understood she was in an accident, “she rolled her eyes and shouted, ‘Yes,’ “ according to the report.

When he asked for Woods’ drivers license, she initially refused, but complied after the deputy said he needed it to complete the accident report. She also said she did not have an insurance card.

“Woods refused to acknowledge any wrongdoing and refused to sign any citations,” the deputy reported.

Woods posted a $10,000 bond Thursday and was released from St. Charles County jail.
