
FZN Senior Emma Wood recently signed a “Letter of Intent” to play softball at Minnesota State-Moorhead, located in Moorhead, Minnesota. Wood was a three-year varsity team member for the Fort Zumwalt North softball team, serving as the team’s starting catcher in each of the past two seasons. A strong defensive player, Wood stood-out at the plate for the Panthers, batting an impressive .432 as a junior and .437 as a senior. A versatile player, Wood was named to the “All-Conference” 2nd team as as utility player following her senior campaign. For her efforts in the classroom, Wood as also selected as a member of the conference’s "All-Academic" team. In addition, to her time as a player at FZN, Wood also played for the formidable Prospect Elite/Mid-MO softball club.
Minnesota State-Moorhead, whose moniker is the Dragons, is a NCAA Division 2 institution that participates in athletics as a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
