Wrestlers capture the title at the Desoto Invitational!

3 individual champions pace the Panthers.

Led by individual champions; Shaun Beeman (113), Jack Ederer (132), and Trenton Jaco (145), the FZN wrestling squad captured top honors at the 20 team Desoto Invitational held last weekend (1/30 - 1/31). Overall, the team had 12 individuals finish in the top six of their respective weight class to earn individual medals for the Panthers. Shaun Beeman was named the meet’s “Outstanding Wrestler”.

In addition to winning the title at Desoto, the Panther grapplers defeated both Hannibal (45 - 30) and Helias (49 - 21) in a pair of dual meets also held last week, The Panthers finished their dual meet season with an 8 - 2 overall record.

The wrestlers have completed the regular season portion of their schedule. The team will compete in District competition at Westminster High School on February 12th and 13th. The top four individuals at the District meet will advance to the State competition.
