• Flood Warning issued June 5 at 8:14PM CDT until June 10 at 11:40AM CDT by NWS Kansas City/Pleasant Hill MO (kq2.com) — Minor flooding is expected along the Platte River near Platte City from late tonight through Wednesday morning, with cropland near Highway 92 and low-lying areas at risk as the river crests above flood stage. Residents should watch for water over local roads, including areas downstream near Humphreys Access and Tracy, and avoid driving through any flooded stretches, especially where barricades are in place.
   

• Soccer booking boom fails to kick off for rentals (plattecountylandmark.com) — Platte County short-term rental owners and hoteliers aren’t seeing the World Cup booking boom they were promised, with many cutting prices and still trailing normal summer occupancy. Local tourism leaders say high room rates, canceled FIFA blocks, and weaker international demand are all dampening visitor numbers, even as some well-located or competitively priced hosts still manage solid reservations.
