Livestock entries on track for Missouri State Fair, officials say (brownfieldagnews.com) — The Missouri State Fair kicks off next week in Sedalia, bringing ten days of livestock shows and a major showcase of Missouri agriculture to the fairgrounds through August 23. Officials say livestock entries are on track or even up, with youth poultry, goat, lamb, cattle, and other animal shows filling the barns. Residents can check the fair’s website for the full livestock schedule.
   

2. Sedalia area police reports for Aug. 6 (sedaliademocrat.com) — Recent Sedalia police reports detail several arrests for suspected drug possession, DWI, and domestic assault, plus a string of vandalism and graffiti incidents around local streets and businesses. A Columbia woman was also arrested for suspected DWI in Pettis County, underscoring stepped-up enforcement on area roads.
   

3. PSC Approves Evergy-Nucor Agreement with Conditions pr-27-12 (einpresswire.com) — State regulators have approved, with conditions, an agreement letting Nucor Steel Sedalia join Evergy’s Business Demand Response Program, which pays big users to cut power during peak demand. The order requires strict caps and verification so non-participating customers aren’t left subsidizing the program if savings don’t outweigh costs.
   

4. Sedalia area crash reports for Aug. 6 (sedaliademocrat.com) — Two recent crashes near the Sedalia area sent drivers to medical care, including a young Odessa man with minor injuries in Johnson County and a New Mexico motorcyclist with moderate injuries in Pettis County. Both incidents occurred Tuesday, Aug. 4, and involved Missouri State Highway Patrol response.
