Times and dates are set from Wednesday, April 22 through early May, giving friends and neighbors clear opportunities to pay their respects and support grieving families across Sedalia and nearby communities.

New Mayor Williams Sworn into Office (ksisradio.com) — Sedalia’s new mayor, Traves Williams, has been sworn in, making history while overseeing a busy council meeting that named the Sedalia Public Library a local historic landmark. Council also heard that overall tax revenues are down, extended the Washington Avenue Bridge project to June 27, advanced a major Winchester Street safety grant, and approved downtown revitalization projects and a new landfill contract.

3. Market Barrow DNA Samples due May 15 (mycameronnews.com) — If you’re planning to show market barrows, lambs, or wether goats at the Missouri State Fair in Sedalia, you’ll need to submit hair-follicle DNA samples by the listed May and June deadlines. Samples, properly labeled and certified by an ag teacher or Extension agent, must be mailed to the Missouri State Fair Entry Department on West 16th Street in Sedalia.

4. Boys Golf: Southern Boone wins title (newstribune.com) — High school golfers from around Missouri converged on Sedalia as Southern Boone captured the team title at Monday’s Sedalia Sacred Heart Invitational at Sedalia Country Club. The 16-team field saw strong individual rounds, including a 1-over 71 from Southern Boone’s Blake Nichols and solid showings from Versailles and Calvary Lutheran players.
