• 82nd annual American Legion Cotton Carnival runs through Oct. 3 (kfvs12.com) — Sikeston's Jaycee grounds are buzzing this week with the 82nd annual American Legion Cotton Carnival, running through Saturday with rides, contests, and a big parade. Local families can also cheer on contestants in the Mr. and Miss Sikeston and Jr. Miss Sikeston pageants while sampling everything from pulled pork and ribbon fries to homemade ice cream and the American Legion's famous fish sandwiches.
