The Academy of Pet Careers Wins BBB Torch Award for Ethics

The Academy of Pet Careers (APC), a trade school in St. Charles offering dog training, dog grooming, and veterinary assistant programs, has been named the 2026 recipient of the Torch Award for Ethics from the Better Business Bureau (BBB).

The BBB Torch Award was established in the 1990s to honor for-profit companies and nonprofit organizations for professional conduct toward their employees, community, and industry. Nominees are evaluated on the “Four C’s”: character, culture, customers, and community.

To be eligible, a business must have been operating for at least three years and hold a BBB rating of “B” or higher. APC has been in business for 33 years and holds an A+ rating with the BBB.

The Torch Award is the first BBB honor for the school. It is one of several recognitions APC has received this year, including #1 Trade School in St. Charles, Best Pet Career Education Provider, and Best Higher Education Provider.
