Advocates warn the closure of the city's last single-room-occupancy hotel could deepen homelessness, while officials insist relocation funds and caseworkers are in place and vow to enforce rent-forgiveness terms.
2. St. Louis community observes International Overdose Day with vigil and walk on Monday (ksdk.com) — St. Louis residents gathered downtown Monday to mark International Overdose Awareness Day with a vigil, survivor stories, and information on free local treatment and Narcan access. St. Louis families weigh in on final restructuring plan for public schools (ksdk.com) — St. Louis families are weighing in on a sweeping Saint Louis Public Schools restructuring that will close or repurpose 14 schools and shift McKinley High students to Central Visual and Performing Arts. District leaders say the plan aims for long-term financial stability, especially in transportation, and are asking parents to help shape the transition timeline and understand new busing eligibility rules.
5. Saint Louis Zoo history was made when pups were released to a wild wolf family (kmov.com) — St. Louis residents can take pride in a major conservation milestone at the Saint Louis Zoo, where three critically endangered American red wolf pups born at the zoo's wildlife reserve were successfully fostered into a wild pack in North Carolina.
