Local Uber and Lyft drivers say the attack heightens their fears about working at night in the St. Louis region, while the daughter of a cab driver killed in 2022 urges more focus on preventing violence so drivers can safely support their families.
4. 'Why not us?': Business advocate says Lambert's welcome — and St. Louis' mindset — need work (firstalert4.com) — Lambert International Airport's look, feel, and confusing layout are drawing criticism from a longtime regional freight advocate who says first impressions can sway companies considering St. Louis. He's urging leaders to clean up surrounding roads, rethink the airport welcome, and even repurpose Terminal 2 as a logistics hub, arguing that a bolder mindset is key to growing jobs and flights here.
5. Flock camera in Shrewsbury damage (kmov.com) — Shrewsbury police are investigating how a Flock safety camera was knocked down and badly damaged at Big Bend and Shrewsbury, just outside St. Louis. Investigators are trying to determine whether a hit-and-run crash or vandalism is to blame, and note a similar recent attack on a Flock camera in De Soto that cost nearly $5,000 to repair. Damaging these cameras can bring felony property damage charges.
