Eureka Resident Launches Campaign for the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women™ Movement
Campaign aims to promote the link between oral health and heart health, and inspire women to lead healthier lives.
EUREKA, Mo. (Feb. 6, 2026) … Eureka resident Stacy Harris—a 2026 American Heart Association Woman of Impact and the executive director of community impact at Delta Dental of Missouri—launched a campaign on February 6 to help confront the realities of women’s heart disease. She aims to raise funds for heart-health research and resources, promote the link between oral health and heart health, and inspire women to lead healthier lives. Her campaign page is www2.heart.org/goto/impact-from-the-heart.
“Heart disease is the #1 killer of women,” said Harris. “I am inspired by the strength, resilience and courage of heart disease survivors and fighters.”
Harris will work with a team of 16 women to meet her goal. This includes Jessica Grib of south St. Louis County, who survived a heart condition called peripartum cardiomyopathy.

“I experienced heart failure when my daughter was born and was placed on maximum life support right after delivery,” said Grib. “I want to spread awareness of heart failure in childbirth and share my story as part of the healing process.”
A motivator for Harris is the connection between oral health and heart health. Bacteria from gum disease can enter the bloodstream and trigger inflammation in the heart and other organs. Brushing twice a day, flossing, eating healthy and visiting the dentist regularly can protect the mouth and heart.

Donations are accepted through April 9. A "Shop for Women’s Health" event will be held Feb. 12 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Leopard Boutique in Webster Groves, stop by to show your support.
“There is power in community,” added Harris. “Together, we can encourage and support healthier mouths, stronger hearts and better health outcomes.”
