Ex-Black Mafia Family associate arrested as DEA seizes 53 kilos of cocaine in St. Louis (newsnationnow.com) — Federal agents say they seized more than 53 kilograms of cocaine in a St. Louis County home near Maryland Heights, arresting a man with past ties to the Black Mafia Family. Authorities call the bust one of the largest recent seizures in the St. Louis field division, and the suspect remains detained while a judge weighs bond ahead of a preliminary hearing.
   

2. Sinkholes causing concern across St. Louis, residents say streets in disrepair (firstalert4.com) — Multiple growing sinkholes and deep potholes are worrying residents in several St. Louis neighborhoods, including Tower Grove South, with some holes deep enough to cause bike and scooter crashes. After media inquiries, city crews quickly filled a few of the worst spots, but others remain under inspection or tied to ongoing MSD work. Officials urge residents to keep reporting problem areas to help prioritize repairs.
   

3. St. Louis County Council passes motion restricting panhandling (kmov.com) — St. Louis County leaders have approved new restrictions on panhandling, reviving a proposal that previously failed after a veto. The 6-1 vote aims to curb people standing on streets and medians while connecting those experiencing homelessness with housing, mental health, and substance use resources. Officials have not yet shared when the new rules will take effect.

A Judge Just Saved 70 Years of Archival TV From Data Limbo (gadgetreview.com) — Seventy years of Nine PBS's St. Louis television archives, including Great Flood and COVID-19 coverage, were stranded on servers in Denver after a cloud vendor went silent. A Denver judge has now ordered a path for safely extracting the data while protecting other customers' files. The case highlights how fragile local history can be when it depends on a single cloud provider.
   

5. St. Louis rides enviable unbeaten streak into rivalry game vs. Sporting KC (statenews.net) — St. Louis City SC heads into a rivalry showdown at Sporting Kansas City riding a club-record 10-match unbeaten streak across all competitions. A 7-0-2 league run has vaulted City into sixth place in the Western Conference, with recent standout performances from Simon Becher and Daniel Edelman. A win tonight would complete a season sweep of Sporting KC.
