Spectrum Joins Two St. Louis Area Nonprofits To Award Community Grants

Spectrum today announced a donation of $2,500 to both the Metropolitan Community Church of Greater St. Louis and the Sikhs of STL through the company’s national community philanthropic program, Spectrum Employee Community Grants.

Metropolitan Community Church of Greater St. Louis will use the grant to supplement its backpack program to provide food to children during the summer and throughout the school year. This is the fourth grant for the organization, totaling $11,000.

The Sikhs of STL will use the grant to assist in providing food and hygiene supplies to local families in need. This is the second grant for the group, totaling $7,500. The nonprofit works to provide relief for emergency needs of food, clothing and personal supplies.

Both organizations held a check presentation event to commemorate the continued partnership.

Since its inception in 2019, Spectrum Employee Community Grants provided more than $200,000 in funding to several dozen St. Louis area nonprofits.

Recipients deliver critical social services, helping underserved residents meet basic needs, including food, shelter, clothing, job training and neighborhood safety. Each awardee is nominated by one of the company’s more than 101,000 U.S. employees who has volunteered with the organization for at least one year.
